Poster Presentation Guidelines

All presenting authors attending the Congress are asked to bring their printed posters to the venue personally. Alternatively, poster authors can order a printing service and pick up their poster at the poster desk located in Pavilion 4, where the posters will be displayed (more information about the printing service is available below). Additionally, if poster authors wish to have their poster displayed in the mobile app (this is optional), they can also upload an electronic version of their poster via the poster upload, which will be open from the second half of April 2026.

Poster Printing Service
If you wish to order printing of your poster, please contact us at abstracts@midwives2026.org and upload your poster via the poster upload; the file name should include your poster number and last name. E.g. PA 001_Smith/PB 001_Smith. The deadline for ordering a printing service is 10 May 2026.

The online poster upload will be open from the second half of April 2026 (link and details will be provided in time).

Poster Dimensions
Please keep in mind the following dimensions and instructions:

  • The poster size is A0 (portrait format, one page), the dimensions are 84.1 cm wide and 118.9 cm high.
  • You can download the poster template (blank A0) HERE.

Tips for preparing your poster

  • Content: The presenting authors are entirely responsible for the poster content. Use a short descriptive title, full names of contributing authors, and their affiliations.
  • Make your message clear: Highlight your AIM and CONCLUSION using bold and colored fonts.
  • Be brief: Use bullet points and only the most relevant text. 200-300 words are more than enough for the main text.
  • Pictures and graphics: Particular attention should be paid to the resolution of pictures. As a rule of thumb, use at least 300 dpi resolution. Make use of color and graphics. At least 3 pictures or figures are recommended to graphically show your study results.
  • Less is more: Posters with too much text, or too small a font, are hard to read. Communicate your message in different ways (graphs, illustrations) and keep your text to a minimum. Provide a link or QR code where delegates who are interested can read more.

Poster Sessions
Presenting authors are encouraged to be present during the poster session to answer possible questions from the delegates. Please try to be near your poster during your allocated time.

Suitable fixing material will be provided by the organisers. If the posters are made of a different material than paper (e.g. cloth), we cannot guarantee that the posters will be able to stay in place.
